COWBOYS FOOTBALL CAMP
DON'T DREAM OF WINNING, TRAIN FOR IT.
For 2014, we have combined our contact and non-contact camps into one convenient week while continuing to offer both non-contact and contact sessions for players of all skill levels.
The non-contact portion of camp focuses on conditioning, agility and basic football skills. Camp drills will mirror several parts of the early fall season that include drills for each players speed and coordination.
The contact session of camp is an unique opportunity for new players to get their first experience with tackle football, while allowing returning players an opportunity to further their skills and experience. Players will be put into appropriate age and ability groups to ensure the highest levels of safety.
April 28 - May 1 (Monday - Thursday)
All camp activities are held at the Cowboy Football Complex at Jim Warren Park in Franklin. Players should report to Field #1 the first night at the West end of the complex.

Spring Camp Information FAQs
What equipment will I need to provide?
For the non-contact session, players will need no special equipment. All participants will be in shorts and shirts. Players should try to wear a comfortable football cleat, but can participate in tennis shoes. For the contact session; helmets, shoulder pads and a mouth piece will be checked out to all participants. Players will be responsible for providing their own practice pants and cleats. Practice pants can be purchased at the Cowboy Complex (we have a limited supply) or any of the retail sports stores in the area (i.e. Dicks Sporting Goods, etc). If you have your own helmet and/or shoulder pads they must be NOCSAE certified and in good condition.
When do I pick-up Equipment?
We will be issuing equipment for the full contact session on Saturday, April 26, 9am - 1pm. Players must be present for proper fitting. Equipment will be returned after the last practice on Thursday.
Can I Get a Refund?
If, after registration your child is unable to participate, a partial refund may be available. All requests for refunds must be done in writing and will only be considered if a participant is unable to attend the session(s) they were originally sign-up to attend. Refunds will not be issued after the first day of camp.
What if I have any Issues or Concerns?
We want to know your concerns and opinions in order to provide a better program and environment for your child. Please do not wait until the end of the camp to report a problem or concern, let us know immediately so we can try to resolve the issue and make the event more enjoyable for everyone.
Make sure the player has plenty of water. The concessions stand will not be open for Camp. Sport drinks are OK, but water is best! Do not bring carbonated beverages. Make sure to label the bottle or thermos with the child’s name.
Can I Leave My Child Alone at Camp?
We strongly discourage dropping off the player/cheerleader and leaving the premises. If you have to leave, you MUST notify one of the coaches and make sure they have a way to contact you in the event of an emergency. Return to the practice area before the finish to pick up the child.
What are some of the Facility Rules?
The public walking trails which circle around the fields must be kept clear and free of any obstructions that would hinder those walking. Please do not bring bicycles or scooter into the spectator area.
Where Should I Park?
Parking will be an issue due to the large amount of participants in the Cowboys organization, as well as Franklin Baseball Club. Please remember these important rules; DO NOT park in front of the gate at the entrance off Boyd Mill Ave. This is the only access for emergency vehicles to enter Fields 1 & 2. Respect the Handicap Parking Zones - unauthorized vehicles will be towed at owner’s expense. DO NOT speed through the parking lot. Park only in designated parking slots - do not park on any grass area or medians - this includes Boyd Mill Ave. and Twin Oaks Drive.
What Happens if it Rains?
The most-asked question – Do we practice and/or play in the rain? And the answer is . . . “if it is sprinkling – we practice. If it is pouring and/or lightning – we usually will not practice. An e-mail will be sent to all camp participants and notice posted on the website in the event of cancellation due to weather.
